Student Projects
Back to EDUCATION
Ryan’s students didn’t waste any time becoming actively involved in helping their “sister-school” friends. So far they have:
- Raised money to have the village school painted (inside and out) and white-boards installed over the traditional chalk boards.
- Donated resources for the school and the library.
- Donated a wheelchair for a disabled student in the community, so he could more easily get to school during the rainy season.
- Collected and donated soccer gear – jerseys, cleats and balls – for the school and the village soccer teams (also supported by local community soccer clubs in Snohomish County).
- Corresponded with Oporoza students via email.
- Planned a school assembly focusing on the Niger Delta and people of Oporoza.
Although they are thousands of miles apart, students in Marysville find the students in Oporoza close to their hearts.
