Back to GET INVOLVED
In April 2008, the 14 U.S. legislators listed below signed a letter to Nigerian President Yar'Adua calling for the release of the four Sweet Crude crew members and our Nigerian-American colleague held in Nigerian SSS custody. Please take a moment to thank them and encourage their continued interest in the critical issues of the Niger Delta.

Thank you for taking action on behalf of the Sweet Crude film crew and their Nigerian-American colleague who were detained in Nigeria in April 2008. The letter signed by you and 13 other U.S. lawmakers played a key role in securing their release. I am very grateful that they are now safely home. But the crisis in the Niger Delta continues. I urge you to stay interested and involved with other Senators and Representatives to pursue avenues for a nonviolent solution that includes and benefits all stakeholders in the region.
